Pirate Day

Ok so I am a little behind! On Tuesday, Jordan participated in the annual Kindergarten Pirate Day at school. He was so excited when he got home to show everyone his "treasure" and how they went searching for it and had to look out for a pirate behind a post! Of course Colin got in one of his moods because he couldn't do it! Sooooo, we dressed him up and him and Jordan searched for "treasure"! Of course, we had to let Ian get involved!

Ian at 6 months

I can not believe how time flies. It just seemed like yesterday we were bringing him home and now he is half way to a year old. :( Here are some various pictures of Ian at 6 months!


He loves to eat and has finally decided he will eat off a spoon!

He loves his daddy...even though his first word was "mama". Yes, he is already talking, has 2 teeth, can sit up and wants to crawl!

He was just caught stealing my paper towels. Then he decided it was funny so he took more! :)

He plays so hard that he just falls asleep wherever , whenever.

Spring Break 09

This week has been wonderful! My parents came down from Michigan on Tuesday. We went to the Hands-on- Museum in Jacksonville. Jordan went with his class and really enjoyed it. So we decided since Colin's cast was off and he was walking again we would go back. They weren't busy at all so it was nice. Of course their PaPaw got in on the action :)

On Wednesday, we headed down to St. Augustine for some relaxation on the beach and by the pool! We had so much fun! The boys love going there. Actually, I think they just like staying at a hotel :) We came back home today (Friday) and my parents have to leave tomorrow. :( We will miss them bunches but my mom will be back for a few days in May and then we are heading up north in July!!!

Its been awhile......

Wow...it has been awhile since I have blogged. :( My computer has been acting up lately, on top of having 3 crazy children (I say that lovingly). Not too much has been going on around here, except we have managed to have every illness from high high fevers to breathing treatments to stomach problems. Other than that, Colin has finally gotten his cast off! He is still walking funny but the doctor said that should go away in 3-4 weeks. Jordan finally has a tooth coming into the hole where he lost his baby tooth. Ian who is 5 months old already has cut 2 teeth! He has also decided that he really wants to sit up...so we have been practicing, but as you can see he gets worn out from all the hard work! :)

So, we got Ian this jumper activity center and he has really enjoyed it. Well, Saturday I was cleaning up the kitchen and he was playing and having a good time. I just loved listening to his cute little giggles and the cooing he does to his toys! As i was cleaning, I noticed that the giggles and talking had stopped. I looked around the corner of the bar and this is what I saw...........

I guess he had all the fun he could stand and needed to take a nap! :)

He does his own stunts!!

Ok...so Eric made a little comment back in November that went something like this....."I wonder which one of our boys will be the first to break a bone?" Of course we laughed but little did we know it was really going to have not once but twice within a month to the same child! Ok...let me fill you in.

We went to my mom's house in Michigan for Christmas. We flew in on Christmas Eve to some snow on the ground but it was raining :( Well that night the temperature dropped to our nasty rain turned to nasty ice. BUT the ice made for a GREAT sled run across the street from my mom's house. The hill was great! It was big and slick and went right out onto the frozen lake! So anyways.....being the great grandparents they are they bundled up the boys....I'm talking the kind of bundled up that takes 10 mins and you hope and pray noone has to potty when you are done! They made their way over to the big hill....being careful not to slip on the ice.....and the sledding began! Uncle Luke and Colin went down the hill and out onto the lake. Then it was Jordan's turn. He got ready and away he went! Well, my non-listening Colin decided to step in the way of Jordan coming down the hill (after uncle luke said don't move)...the sled hit Colin right in the ankles...flipped him into the air and smack down onto the frozen lake on his left side. Here is the results.......

Now...you would think that this nice broken collar bone would hurt.....but not my crazy man! He cried for a few minutes and fell asleep in the car on the way to the ER! He was given a nice sling to keep it still....but of course he still wanted to play and be his normal self. Here is Colin after the ER :)

Now....injury number 2 not even a month later happend one evening when we decided to go out to dinner! The dog got loose....started running crazy outside...she came peeling around the corner and for some reason didn't see Colin and ran right into his knee with her head. I thought well maybe it just sprained his knee and away we went. I took him for an x-ray the next day because he couldn't put any pressure on his leg. They told me it was just a sprained knee and to keep it elevated and rest it. So the next day he still couldn't walk on it.....I was a little concerned since by this point he had started running a fever of 102 and by now his whole leg was swollen. So off to the children's hospital we went. This time they took an x-ray of his whole leg and they said something was wrong with his ankle (not where he was hit but okay!?). He put a splint on it and told me to call the orthopedic doctor the next day. Well of course we couldn't get in until Tuesday. On Tuesday we went to see the doctor....he said there was something wrong with his hip...again we had more x-rays and once again I am thinking this is not where he was hit! OF course nothing was found on the x-rays so they sent us to get blood tests back the the children's hospital since he was still running a fever of 102. And guess what? Nothing showed on those tests either! So home we went...still unable to walk and still running 102 fever. On Thursday we went back to the doctor....he got really concerned and told us he was going to admit him to the hospital for a bone scan. Oh what fun! So of course we have ANOTHER x-ray done and finally on Friday we have the bone scan. So 4 x-rays, 3 blood test, an ultrasound, a soft tissue scan and a bone scan later....we have a fracture in the femur above the knee and a growth plate fracture in his knee. We finally left the hospital sporting a nice blue cast....which does not make him happy :)

I think Colin is going to be a stunt man when he is older. This child has not once complained about his injuries or taking any pain medication. You would never know he has a broken collar bone and 2 fractures in his knee all at the same time!

He's Crazy!!!

So apparently my youngest child thinks everything is funny and cute! :) So when his mom puts him down quickly and forgets to buckle him in (next to the fireplace no less).....what does he do? This..................

Wordless Wednesday

Lost Tooth.....

Well its official my oldest baby is no longer a baby. He has lost his first tooth! I can't believe this day has finally come. I know it may not seem like a huge deal but it just seems like yesterday I was bringing him home from the hospital and had no clue what to do with a tiny baby! Now, here he is in school and losing his teeth! I must say he is extremely cute with that little hole right in the front!

Children and Cameras

Here lately my 2 older boys have shown an interest in the camera. Usually we get shots of half a head, someones rear-end or a finger in front of the lens. On this particular day they actually took some pretty good pictures. They were so proud of themselves. Poor Ian was probably seeing spots after his photo session!

As you can see towards the end, Ian was getting bored :)

I guess I am going to join the blogging world. I am not sure how good I will be at this since I am not good about checking my email :) I guess this means I will need to take more pictures :)
